If you are getting “Unkown Error” 3002 or 3200 while upgrading your iOS firmware to iOS 5 then you can use the following technique suggested by Amit Agarwal. To begin with the process of fixing up the error, you have to get the iOS 5 firmware downloaded (.IPSW File) to your computer first. Download iOS 5 Direct Link and follow the process we discuss here.

- Close the iTunes software on your computer and remove the connected iOS Device (iPhone, iPod touch or iPad).
- Once you have downloaded the suitable iOS 5 IPSW firmware for your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, paste the file under the following directory.
For Windows:
%APPDATA%\Apple Computer\iTunes\iP{one|ad|od} Software Updates
For Mac OS X:
~/Library/iTunes/iP{one|ad|od} Software Updates
It is the directory where the downloaded software stored usually when you do it through iTunes. Now Connect your iOS Device with computer and launch iTunes software (if it is not opened automatically). Click on “Restore” and iTunes automatically selects the iOS 5 IPSW file.
Now wait for the Upgrade to complete and enjoy your all new iOS 5 on your Device.
I am trying to install ios5 on iphone 4 but keep getting a (-37) error at backup. Does anyone know how to fix this?
